# ShearSlot Customer Terms

These Customer Terms ("Terms") apply when you find a shop, book, manage, or review an appointment through ShearSlot, as a guest or with an optional account. ShearSlot is operated by Jonathan Pollock, individually ("ShearSlot," "we," "us"), and may be assigned to JYP Designs LLC upon formation. By booking through ShearSlot, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy (shearslot.com/privacy).

## 1. ShearSlot is a booking platform

ShearSlot is a booking platform that connects you with barbershops and salons. **ShearSlot is not a party to the service you book.** Your appointment is between you and the shop.

## 2. The shop is responsible for its services

The shop is solely responsible for its services, pricing, policies (including any cancellation, no-show, or deposit policy it shows you when you book), and for any injuries or other harm connected with its services or premises. Questions or complaints about a service should go to the shop first.

## 3. Appointment texts

**By booking with a phone number, you agree to receive appointment confirmation and reminder texts** from the shop via ShearSlot. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies with your bookings.

## 4. Marketing texts

Marketing texts are sent only with your separate, optional express written consent. **Consent to marketing texts is not a condition of booking.** Marketing texts are sent only between 8 AM and 9 PM in your local time.

## 5. Opting out and getting help

Reply **STOP** to any text to opt out. We honor opt-outs promptly, within 10 business days at most. Reply **HELP** for help, or email support@shearslot.com.

## 6. Children

Children under 13 may not use ShearSlot themselves. Bookings for minors must be made by a parent or guardian, using the parent's or guardian's own contact information.

## 7. Using ShearSlot

Give accurate information, and book only appointments you intend to keep or are authorized to make for someone else. Do not use ShearSlot for unlawful purposes, make false bookings, post false or offensive reviews, impersonate others, or try to hack, overload, or scrape the service.

## 8. Suspension

We may suspend or close your account, or refuse your bookings, for suspected fraud or abuse, or for legal, carrier, or security reasons, with notice where practical.

## 9. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

ShearSlot is provided "as is" to the extent allowed by law. We can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and text and push delivery depends on carriers and other third parties. To the maximum extent allowed by law, ShearSlot is not liable for the services a shop provides or fails to provide, for missed or changed appointments, or for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

## 10. Assignment

We may assign or transfer these Terms, including to JYP Designs LLC upon its formation. You may not assign these Terms without our written consent.

## 11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the updated version at shearslot.com/customer-terms and change the "Last updated" date. The version in effect when you book applies to that booking.

## 12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Lake County, Ohio, except where the law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
